sudo mkdir /usr/local/portage&lt;br /&gt;
sudo nano -w /etc/make.conf&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
add the following line:&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
PORTDIR_OVERLAY=&amp;quot;/usr/local/portage/&amp;quot;&lt;br /&gt;

now configure mingw&lt;br /&gt;
