Most people use Windows Live messenger, skype, and other live messaging applications for work, pleasure, or both. aMSN is a simple, lightweight linux based msn client.
$ sudo emerge -av amsn
Many people today also use skype. The most challenging thing about configuring skype is getting your microphone working properly; for that, visit the section on Configuring Sound.
$ sudo emerge -av skype
