If you want to upgrade your rooted Nexus 4 to Android Jelly Bean 4.3, but want to keep your root and LTE capabilities, simply do the following...

  • Download a copy of the 0.48 version of the Nexus 4 radio and copy it to your sdcard. Links to download the radio images are at xda.
  • Make sure you have a copy of version of the 0.33 radio as well. You'll need to flash it back to this version after the update.
  • Make sure you have a copy of the SU/root image that will restore your root access after the update.
