Configuring Software - audacious
If you were a fan of Nullsoft Winamp from back in the day, a great open-source alternative is audacious. Before you emerge it, you may want to ensure that you have the appropriate multimedia USE flags set in your /etc/make.conf. Once you are happy with your USE flag settings, emerge audacious.
$ sudo emerge -av audacious
Once audacious has emerged, you can start it by clicking Multimedia -> Audacious using your menu.
To skin audacious so it has the same appearance and feel as Nullsoft Winamp, select View -> Interface -> Winamp Classic Interface. Right-click the title bar again and select Preferences, then select Skinned interface on the left to select your desired skin. Click the "eq" and "pl" buttons within the interface to enable the equalizer and playlist.
